Pushing the Arab region out of the crises of energy, water & food was the main trigger to the gathering of many International Organizations, national & global corporates under the umbrella of “The International Conference of Energy, Water and Food in the Arab Region” that took place at Al Galaa Hotel, Cairo, Egypt 16 & 17 March 2015. The conference aimed at addressing challenges & solutions of the future of energy, water and food, and covered topics as recourse, funding and many related technical and scientific approaches. Among participants were: OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), Food & Agriculture Organization (FAW), Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU) and many other interested firms, organizations and academics.
“The Utilization of Solar Energy in Sustainable Development in Egypt” was the title of the conference paper that EGEC addressed which offered promising applications of solar energy that help building a green community that is capable of depending on the sun as an everlasting alternative to traditional Energy. The paper that is prepared & presented by Dr. Hamdy El-Ghetany, Solar Energy Consultant at EGEC, explained how solar energy can be utilized in Food, Water & Energy sectors through a variety of solutions & applications which are feasible and can play a major role in expanding the flow of new energy Investments in the Arab region generally and Egypt particularly.
